Serbia and Team USA got eliminated in the quarterfinals against Argentina and France respectively which means they will clash each other in the classification games for the 5th-8th spot.

Serbia coach Aleksandar Djordjevic admitted in front of the upcoming duel that although they were getting ready for both squads, their focus was much more on France as that could’ve been a game for the direct entry to the 2020 Olympics:

“A big opponent for us… Honestly, we were preparing for both national teams, much more for the French, thinking that we would meet them tomorrow. We expected that the game would give us a chance for the Olympics. It won’t happen. It will be a match for prestige, a match for pride, for a real sports war as I like to say. We have to play it brave and smart, as always. Almost always…”, Djordjevic said.

Team USA and Serbia will play their game on Thursday (12/9) at 13:00 CET.
