Serbia defeated the USA in their classification game for spots 5-8 and Serbia head coach Sasha Djordjevic shared his thoughts on the game, and how his guys overcame the struggle.

“Sleeping in our own bed for a couple of nights really helped us a lot. All this traveling and the way of organizing this competition didn’t help us at all. I believe the guys came out with the desire to compete, to show that we had a tough loss but we’re a good team. This was my whole motivational part addressing them – that we are together even when things don’t go the way we want them”, said Djordjevic.

He also referred to the previous comments about “god helping the USA” in case they met with team Serbia. “If you take out the irony, out of my weapons as a coach, then I don’t have a lot left. I meant no offense. On the contrary, it was something I said to my guys to make them feel confident and secure. I don’t believe I insulted anyone, every competitor is free to speak his mind. Maybe today we proved this little phrase I said”, he added.
