BEIJING – Luca Vildoza and the Argentinian national team have faced many challenges in this FIBA Basketball World Cup. Despite playing against great teams, such as Serbia and Russia, Argentina is still undefeated and in the semi-finals. On Friday, the South Americans will face the very talented French team that knocked out Team USA in the quarter-finals.
The 24-year old is looking forward to competing against a great team: “We are fine. We come from very hard games that seemed to be a surprise,” said Vildoza. “I think we’re ready, so looking forward to the game. We know that either rival (France or Team USA) would be very tough. Unfortunately, it will be France, knowing the offensive quality they have, knowing how they defend, the physical quality… We must be prepared for a very physical game”.
As for Luis Scola, Vildoza had only great things to say: “He is incredible. Luis, at 39, is proving to be one of the best FIBA players of all time. We are enjoying him”.
