In the aftermath of the Reds’ qualification to Istanbul, Euroleague fined the team from Piraeus because of the flares that were used by the fans after the Game 4 against Siena and their invasion inside the court

Olympiacos has to pay a heavy fine because of the behavior of his fans. Euroleague basketball decided to punish the Reds with a 42.000 euros fine after what happened during the celebration in the end of play offs Game 4 against Siena.

Flares were lighted inside the gym and fans invaded the court. They probably didn’t mean any harm – although an Italian journalist from Siena claimed that some of them tried to steal his camera – but such behavior is punishable by the Euroleague regulations.

A similar fine will probably be imposed by Euroleague to Panathinaikos because of the identical celebration of his fans after the win in Game 5 against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
