Oklahoma City Thunder will not offer a contract to the Russian power forward and he will remain in Moscow in order to play for CSKA as he is obliged by his contract that runs through the end of 2013-14 seaon

When Ettore Messina was telling everybody about his fear of an NBA exodus from his players at CSKA Moscow, everybody believed that the Russian powerhouse will be in trouble. That will not be the case after all. Only Alexey Shved is still on the fence and there is a good chance for him to end up at Minnesota.

Nenad Krstic stayed at Moscow, Andrey Kirilenko will probably do the same and Andrey Vorontsevich will not get a contract from Oklahoma City Thunder. That’s been whispered the last week, but Eurohoops.net found the reason behind the decision.

Perry Jones III who was picked at no.28 in the draft by OKC is proving to be healthy enough to fill the role that could be Vorontsevich’s. There were concerns about the meniscus of his right knee, that’s why his stock fell in the draft, but now the team believes that there isn’t any real problem. So, the forward from Baylor will get the roster spot instead of the Russian.
