The assistant of coach Ilias Zouros won his case against Zalgiris Kaunas in Geneva’s arbitrational court and now the Lithuanian club is ordered to pay him the salaries he was owed, plus interest and legal fees

Last season’s firing of Ilias Zouros and his stuff, only a few months after winning three titles (double in Lithuania, Baltic league) was unprecedented, even for Vladimir Romanov who has a habit of changing coaches. What was even more unfamiliar is that he accused the (very knowledgeable) assistant of Zouros Ilias Kantzouris for bad preparation during training camp and also he didn’t pay some of his salaries. As a result Kantzouris went to FIBA court and as it was expected he won the case.

According to the decision, Zalgiris is now ordered to pay to the Greek coach the amount of money he was owed, plus a 5% interest as well as his legal fees and expenses.
