For the first time ever a football section of a club is turning into Euroleague in order to punish the basketball section of its arch-rival. As Sportit.gr reported Olympiacos FC – and not BC – send a protest in Euroleague for the banner against the owner of Olympiacos football team Vaggelis Marinakis, which was presented by Panathinaikos fans in the game of the Greens versus Barcelona.
Panathinaikos has already been punished with a total 23.000 fine because due to its fans behavior during the game towards the referees and the use of flares. It remains to be seen if and what may be the extra punishment of Panathinaikos for this incident.
