One month after his return to Moscow and CSKA, Andrei Kirilenko plans to retire from professional basketball this summer, as he said.

The Russian superstar came back home after three months out of action in the NBA due to family reasons. He signed a short-term contract with CSKA in mid February wanting to win the Euroleague for first time and is ready to finish his career this summer.

“I’m happy finally coming back home and it’s a great chance to finish my career at home. That’s probably my last season. I’m still thinking about next year but for this moment I feel like this, that it’s my last season” said Andrei Kirilenko to the Euroleague TV show “Eurofighters” on Canal+.

He’s 34 years old and since his childhood is involved with basketball. So, what’s his next step? “I don’t know yet. It’s a lot of years in front of me, changing my occupation, not being a player any more. I still think that I will be connected with the basketball somehow. I don’t know yet. There are many ways to continue my career, like be in the basketball full time or not being at the basketball at all”.
