Ioannis Papapetrou scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds as Panathinaikos beat bottom-placed Aris Thessaloniki 88 – 81 on the road to improve its Greek League record to competition-best 16 – 2.

DeShaun Thoma posted 19 points and six rebounds while George Papagiannis finished with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds for Panathinaikos. The “Greens” never trailed in the game and were up by 14 in the beginning of the fourth period. Aris came back to make it 80 – 84 with 1:54 left but buckets by Nick Calathes and Papapetrou prevented them from getting any closer.

Vladimir Dragisevic scored 19 points, Lefteris Bochoridis notched 15 points plus eight assists and Milan Milosevic had 15 points and 14 rebounds for Aris. The team is now 5-13 and tied with fellow Thessaloniki team PAOK at the last spot in the standings.
