Jawun Evans hands Promitheas comeback win over Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos had the win within their grasp but Promitheas didn’t let go and managed to make an upset on the road with Jawun Evans sealing the deal

Despite leading 78-71 with a bit over a minute left, Panathinaikos suffered a loss, at home, in the Greek League by the hands of the Promitheas squad with 80-78 on the scoreboard.

The Greens log their second loss but remain at the top of the standings with 10-2. Promitheas improved to 8-4.

Jawun Evans was the main force behind Promitheas’ comeback and he was the one to win it for the guests with a steal-and-layup play at ten seconds left.

He finished the game with ten points while Ioannis Athinaiou scored 18. Jerai Grant had 17 and Jerian Grant 16 points.

For PAO, Ioannis Papapetroubanked in 26 points on 11-14 while Dinos Mitoglou logged 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Larisa made an upset over AEK, winning 76-75 as they fight to rise safely above the relegation zone. Jerry Smith was the man of the match with 30 points.

Meanwhile, Lavrio kept its own run going with an 84-77 win against PAOK. THey’ve now improved to 9-4, the same record as AEK, just behind PAO. Alpha Diallo scored 17 and Glen Cosey 16 points. Vassilis Mouratos logged ten points and 12 assists.
