Panathinaikos moves to Greek League semifinals

Panathinaikos checked its semifinals ticket by sweeping Ionikos.

Panathinaikos Athens crushed Ionikos Nikaia 90 – 61 and won the best-of-three quarterfinal series 2-0 to become the second team that advances to the semifinals after Lavrio.

Five players scored in double figures for Panathinaikos that dominated the game from start to finish. Dinos Mitoglou had 15 points, George Papagiannis posted 14 points and seven rebounds, Shelvin Mack scored 11 and dished out six assists while Aaron White dropped 10 points.

TJ Bray added 10 points for the Greens in his return to the roster. Bray will replace guard Nemanja Nedovic for the rest of the season.

Nikos Chougaz and Jeremy Hollowell had 14 points apiece for Ionikos. Sayeed Pridgett scored 13.

On Thursday (13/5), Lavrio beat Kolossos Rhodes 88 – 84 on the road to win the series 2-0. PAOK Thessaloniki defeated AEK Athens 81 – 73 to force a Game 3.
