Ioannis Papapetrou scored 20 points as Panathinaikos Athens downed reigning Greek SuperCup champion Promitheas Patras 92 – 83 to win the 2021 edition of the tournament. It’s the first Supercup title for the Greens who had previously lost in the finals in 1986 and were eliminated in last season’s semifinal.

Panathinaikos established its hold after Promitheas took an early 17 -22 lead. Once Dimitris Priftis’ players combined their solid offense with an even better defense, they took a double-digit advantage and closed halftime up 53 – 39.

Promitheas reacted but never enough to become an actual threat to Panathinaikos. The Patras side approached 84 – 79 with three minutes to play but their opponents answered with a 6-0 run to reach the final moments with a comfortable lead.

Okaro White added 15 points and six rebounds for Panathinaikos while George Papagiannis logged 14 points and six boards of his own. Isaiah Miles (15 points, five rebounds) and Nikos Rogkavopoulos (13 points) stood out from Promitheas.
