Kolossos Rodou announced that the team has parted ways with Ty Lawson after a mutual agreement.

Lawson, 33, had signed with Kolossos last January but he couldn’t leave China and actually join the team due to travel issues. He moved to Greece in May, practicing and joining the team finally this past summer. However, the two sides didn’t fit well and decided to go separate ways.

From 2009 to 2018, Lawson played 587 games in the NBA and averaged 12.3 points with such teams as the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and the Washington Wizards. In 2019-2020 he was playing with the Fujian Sturgeons in China.

Meanwhile, Kolossos already has a replacement ready as Stefan Pot will come in and train with the team as soon as today. The 27-year-old guard played for Igokea last season in the Basketball Champions League and the ABA League, as the squad made a surprising run into the playoffs of both competitions.
