Panathinaikos moves to Greek Cup Final Four

Panathinaikos didn’t face any serious problems against Lavrio.

Panathinaikos Athens became the third team to advance to the semifinal stage of the 2022 Greek Cup after Olympiacos Piraeus and AEK Athens. The Greens defeated Lavrio BC 93 – 69 in the knockout quarterfinal game and will defend their title in the Final Four (18/2 – 20/2).

Nemanja Nedovic scored all of his 15 points (on 5-8 triples overall) by the first half to set the pace for Panathinaikos. His team took a 53 – 38 advantage at the break and retained a double-digit advantage for the rest of the match, establishing a lead beyond 20 points in the fourth period.

Lefteris Bochorides added 12 points for Panathinaikos that was without head coach Dimitris Priftis. Ioannis Papapetrou had 10 points and seven assists while Kendrick Perry scored 10.

Dimitris Kaklamanakis posted 14 points plus six rebounds for Lavrio.

The last Final Four participant will be decided in the match between PAOK Thessaloniki and Promitheas Patras that has been postponed due to coronavirus cases on the former.
