Keith Langford has penned a contract for the rest of the 2021-22 season with AEK, the team announced Monday confirming preceding reports on the reunion.

Per the press release: “AEK BC announces the signing of Keith Langford. The American guard signed today (14/02) its deal with the Queen until the end of the season.”

Langford, 38, last played as a member of the Queen in 2020-21. Eight months after completing his two-year run, he officially returned to the team based in Athens. The initial stint included capturing the Greek Cup and being named Basketball Champions League MVP in 2020.

Meanwhile, AEK has been banned from international transfers due to past debts. However, Langford’s license remaining in Greece allowed the Yellow-Blacks to bring him back.

The team led by Stefanos Dedas is gearing up to compete in the Greek Cup Final Four scheduled to be held in Iraklio Friday through Saturday. AEK is set to collide with Olympiacos, while Panathinaikos OPAP will meet Promitheas in the semifinals.

In the Stoiximan Basket League, a 6-8 W-L record ranks AEK sixth overall with ten games left in the Regular Season schedule. The latest BCL campaign was marked by an early exit after a 1-5 run in Regular Season Group D to finish fourth behind Hungary champion Falco Szombathely, Italian outlet NutriBullet Treviso and VEF Riga.

Since coming out of Kansas in 2005, Langford has displayed his talents in Italy, Russia, Israel, and China before signing with Panathinaikos and landing in Greece in 2018. He has logged 152 appearances in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, 29 in the BCL, and 25 in 7DAYS EuroCup.
