Olympiacos resumed action in Greece with yet another victory.

Two days after a EuroLeague loss to ALBA Berlin, Olympiacos Piraeus got a 94 – 65 win over Iraklis Thessaloniki for Round 17 of the Greek League. The Reds improved to 14 – 1 while their opponents fell to 3 – 12.

Iraklis traveled to Piraeus with a seven-man squad that included two underage players due to several guys suffering from COVID-19 and illness issues. Still, the visiting side stayed close 38 – 33 at halftime and managed to stay competitive for 30 minutes until Olympiacos dominated the final quarter completely (33-15) to get an easy victory.

Kostas Papanikolaou led Olympiacos with 21 points plus five assists while Giorgos Printezis scored 14 and Giannoulis Larentzakis finished with 12 points. Moustapha Fall sit out the game for resting reasons.

Brandon Garrett (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Myke Henry (19 points, 15 turnovers) were the top scorers of Iraklis.

Olympiacos is now preparing for a double-game EuroLeague week and the matches at Zalgiris Kaunas (a postponed game from Round 19) Tuesday and archrival Panathinaikos Athens at home Thursday.

Speaking of Panathinaikos, the Greens got a 75 – 67 win over Peristeri and joined Olympiacos at the top with the same 14-1 record but the tiebreaker advantage as well.

Okaro White scored 17 points followed by Daryl Macon with 16 and Georgios Papagiannis with 14. Papagiannis also grabbed eight rebounds.

For Peristeri, Dimitrios Moraitis scored 11 and Steven Gray ten points.
