Panathinaikos beat Larisa at home to kickstart the Greek Basket League semifinals

Panathinaikos OPAP Athens prevailed over Larisa 87-77 in the tip-off of the Greek Basket League semifinals Sunday.

Nemanja Nedovic and Ioannis Papapetrou paced the Greens to victory, scoring 20 and 18 points respectively, while Okaro White added 10 points and Georgios Papagiannis had 7 points and 12 rebounds.

The hosts managed to survive a 29-point performance by Larisa’s Stefan Moody and recovered a five-point deficit in the first half to grab the victory in Game 1.

Game 2 of the series is underway Tuesday in Larisa (19:30 local time), while on Monday, Olympiacos will face Promitheas for the first game of their semifinals in Piraeus (20:00 local time).
