Olympiacos star forward Sasha Vezenkov led his team to the Greek Basket League 2022 title and the Greek Cup, earning the MVP honors of the 2021-22 campaign in Greece, as announced by the league Thursday.

Vezenkov, 26, who was recently invited by the Sacramento Kings for talks at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, won his second MVP honor in Greece (his first one with Aris in 2014-15). He received 69,23% of the votes from head coaches and team captains, 28,94% from the public, and 77,08% from the press, ranking first in all three voting pools.

Vezenkov averaged 15.5 points on 43% shooting from the three-point line, 7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 24 minutes across 29 Greek Basket League games in 2021-22.

“Thank you very much to everyone who voted for me and named me the most valuable player of the past year,” said Vezenkov. “I want to thank the entire Olympiakos organization. The Presidents, the technical staff, my teammates, the physiotherapists, the carers, and everyone who works every day for the team”.
