Another comfortable win for Olympiacos in Greece’s Basket League

Staying undefeated in Greece’s Basket League, Olympiacos strolled past Ionikos, 107-81, Sunday.

The usual suspect, Sasha Vezenkov led the charge to 5-0 with 24 points, eight rebounds, one steal, and one block in 22 minutes. He made all eight field-goal attempts and fell two points shy of his season-high while drawing the sixth 20-point effort in ten appearances. The Sacramento Kings hold his NBA rights, thus keeping tabs on the Cyprus-born forward and the brilliant start to the 2022-23 campaign.

Isaiah Canaan logged 15 more points in Regular Season Round 5 action. Captain Kostas Papanikolaou and Giannoulis Larentzakis threw in ten points each.

The team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas was coming off a loss at home to Valencia Friday. Falling to 4-2 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, this was a chance to bounce back before Partizan Mozzart Bet visits in EuroLeague Regular Season Round 7 next Thursday.

The Reds led for nearly the whole 40 minutes but nearly dropped an early double-digit lead. From the sluggish start to the second half to the latest dominating domestic win. Tarik Black did not suit up due to restrictions concerning foreign players on the match squad.

Veteran big Loukas Mavrokefalidis stood out for the hosts with 20 points, four rebounds, three steals, and three assists in the losing effort.

Legendary Olympiacos player Vassilis Spanoulis enjoyed yet another win in his young coaching career as Peristeri bwin routed Karditsa Viologiko Horio, 102-77. Marcus Denmon fired 29 points.

Highlighting Saturday’s games, TJ Starks poured 29 points as Kolossos H Hotels beat PAOK mateco, 80-76.
