Mindaugas Kuzminskas had a great game against the Piraeus team, but it wasn’t enough for a suprise

Olympiacos lost its first game of the season a couple of days ago to Barcelona in Round 2 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague but immediately got back on the right track with a 79-71 victory over AEK Athens in the Greek Basket League.

Alec Peters led the winning side with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Giannoulis Larentzakis followed with 14. Thomas Walkup added 12 and the captain Kostas Papanikolaou 11 points. Nikola Milutinov was flirting with a double-double, scoring nine points with nine rebounds.

For AEK, who gave the favorites a great fight, Mindaugas Kuzminskas shined with 23 points and six boards. Jordan McRae followed with 11 points and eight rebounds, Justin Tillman added 10 points, while Dimitris Flionis had seven points and nine assists. Mfiondu Kabengele also scored seven but with eight rebounds.

Olympiacos remains perfect in the Basket League after two rounds, while AEK suffered its second defeat. Arch rivals of defending champions, Panathinaikos, survived against Peristeri to also improve to 2-0.
