Born in 2001, Serb Aleksey Pokusevski from Novi Sad is the latest addition in the junior teams of Olympiacos. The player who is already 2 meters high moved to Athens with his mother and he is a member of the Reds.

He is considered a unique talent, playing currently as a point guard. Since he is younger than 16 years old, he can be part of the Greek national teams as a home grown player and it remains to be seen if this will be his family’s choice.

Olympiacos – and also Panathinaikos with its own basketball academy – is trying to build junior teams which will be able to produce players ready to contribute in the first team. That’s why many talented players from all part of Greece are already lured by the two local powerhouses and forward Thomas Zevgaras, also born in 2001 and already 2,05 m. tall, is one more very interesting prospect of Olympiacos‘ junor team.
