Olympiacos Piraeus faced some problems against Karditsa in the aftermath of the EuroLeague win over Panathinaikos Athens but ultimately managed to take an 85 – 73 victory thanks to a dominant fourth quarter.

Karditsa, one of the two bottom-placed teams in the Greek League standings, assumed a steady lead in the second quarter and was up 53 – 57 with 3:32 to play in the third quarter. At that moment, Olympiacos scored nine unanswered points and then made a 13 – 3 run to go up 75 – 63 halfway through the fourth period. The Reds extended their lead down the stretch to grab their 19th win over 21 games in the 2023-24 Greek League.

Michalis Lountzis scored 16 points while Giannoulis Larentzakis had 14 points in his return to action for an Olympiacos team that was without Thomas Walkup, Nigel Williams-Goss and Moustapha Fall for resting reasons ahead of the double-game EuroLeague week.

Shaq Buchanan led Karditsa with 18 points.
