The latest exchange between Olympiacos and Dimitris Giannakopoulos elevates to expletive phrases

Far from an unusual situation, following a meeting between eternal enemies, Panathinaikos Aktor and Olympiacos.

Dimitris Giannakopoulos, owner of the Greens, shared multiple posts on his personal Instagram account on Tuesday. “We presented you with at least ten opportunities to comply with the best for the sport but you prefer antics,” he wrote, apparently attacking Olympiacos head coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, “I will send you to the parking area once more.”

After Round 3 of Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League Regular Season Top 6 in OAKA on Monday, Bartzokas seemed to get in a heated argument with winning head coach Ergin Ataman. Panathinaikos edging out its archrival all but secured homecourt advantage in the Playoffs of the domestic league.

“We call the well-known parking valet, the one who likes to curse his team, players and fans, who likes to threaten referees (Greeks and foreigners), athletes (active and retired), the Prime Minister and the Ministers, the President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation and the President of the Euroleague, who leaves underwear on the benches, who wishes for deaths, who endangers his fellow citizens by defying the driver manual, who threatens everyone every day, to stop provoking more and urging violence. We believe that the State will use the new sports law created for this behavior and put a stop to it at last, instead of giving him the largest and most modern indoor stadium in the country, creating conditions of unfair competition, or changing the laws to accommodate him,” the Reds responded to Giannakopoulos with posts across official social media platforms, “Enough is enough.”

Beyond the domestic level and projected future meetings in the Basket League, both sides qualified for the Playoffs of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and hope to extend respective continental campaigns into the Final Four.
