In the first game of the Greek League playoffs, PAOK took the lead in the series with a strong performance, defeating Peristeri 91–79 at the PAOK Sports Arena. Meanwhile, the two Greek teams competing in the EuroLeague playoffs, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, will begin their respective series on 13/05.
A 10–0 run in the second half of the third quarter turned a 50–55 deficit at the 26th minute into a 60–55 lead, and that was the last time the advantage changed hands. Another 7–0 run early in the fourth quarter (from 72–67 at the 33rd minute to 79–67) gave PAOK its first double-digit lead. From there, they extended it to a maximum of +13 (88–75 at the 38th minute) before closing out the game at 91–79.
Melvin Cleveland scored 29 points to become the hero of the local team, while Breein Tyree added 19 more. But none of them finished as the game’s top scorers, as Ty Nichols exploded for a 32-point show that wasn’t enough for the away team.
