Olympiacos beat AEK 93-80 on Saturday to become the first team through to the Greek Super Cup final.
Georgios Bartzokas’ side led by 20 points in the first half and stretched the margin to 23 in the third quarter, but AEK kept fighting back. They cut the deficit to seven at 82-75 before Jean Montero hit a three-pointer and followed it with a two-point basket to put Olympiacos back in control.
Montero and Donta Hall finished with 19 points each, while Hall added seven rebounds. Sasha Vezenkov and Tyler Dorsey scored 14 apiece. Giorgos Tsalmpouris led AEK with 18 points, followed by Nelly Joseph with 16.
Osman shocks former team with the buzzer
Oliympiacos will meet PAOK in the final, as Andrea Trinchieri’s side edged Panathinaikos 84-82 in the final moments.
Sylvain Francisco hit a three-pointer to put Panathinaikos ahead 82-81 in the closing seconds, but Cedi Osman responded at the buzzer. The former Panathinaikos forward buried the game-winning three against his old club. The basket was confirmed after a video review, ending Zeljko Obradovic’s first opportunity to win a trophy since returning to the Greens.
Osman also led PAOK with 18 points and six rebounds. Kyle Alexander added 15 points, Markus Foster had 12 points and six assists, Ben Moore finished with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Breein Tyree scored 10.
Francisco led Panathinaikos with 20 points and seven assists. Brancou Badio added 17 points, Mathias Lessort scored 13 and Juancho Hernangomez finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
