AEK advances to Greek Cup final after beating Panathinaikos

In the first semi-final of the Greek Cup, AEK Athens showed strength and overcame Panathinaikos.

AEK outstood the pressure in the final period and managed to prevail over Panathinaikos with 73-69, advancing to the Greek Cup final for the first time since the 2000-01 season!

The star: Manny Harris finished the game with 20 points for the winners.

Not enough: Nikos Pappas tried to pace Panathinaikos back on track in the final period and tapped 14 points.

Turning point: The semifinal saved a nerve-wracking ending for both sides, as every free throw counted, yet AEK handled its game better in the last few minutes

After a slight advantage in the first period (18-17), Panathinaikos allowed an outbreak by AEK, as the latter managed to get in the lead in the second period and go to the lockers with a 32-28 lead.

Marcus Denmon took charge for the Greens in the third period and placed his team again in the leading position with a 3-pointer at 36′ (39-37). After 30 minutes, Panathinaikos was up 44-42.
