Greek League defending champion Panathinaikos stayed perfect in the 2018-2019 regular season by defeating Aris Thessaloniki 80- 74 on the road in a manner more difficult than the final score shows.

It was a rather tense game from early on given the ejection of both head coaches (Xavi Pascual, Vangelis Aggelou) in the first quarter. In the end, the Greens prevailed to make the 2-0 in the season, while Aris fell to 1-1.

DeShaun Thomas scored a game-high 15 points for Panathinaikos while Keith Langford had 14 points plus four rebounds in 19 minutes. The latter also scored a key 3-pointer for the 66 – 74 with five minutes remaining to provide his team an advantage at a moment when Aris was becoming dangerous.

Former Panathinaikos player Lefteris Bochorides had 11 points and seven assists for Aris. Gary Bell also scored 11.
