In possibly the team’s last game before Rick Pitino takes over as head coach, Panathinaikos made short work of AEK.

Panathinaikos put on some strong reaction on the court after the EuroLeague loss to Olimpia Milano in order to crush AEK 111 – 79 and remain unscathed in the Greek League after ten rounds.

The Greens imposed their rhythm early, dominating the first period 36 – 16. They casually preserved a large lead and extended it to 30 points, 73 – 43 in the second half.

AEK never managed to fight back and suffered its seventh loss this season in Greece.

Stephane Lasme dropped 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Lukas Lekavicius and Dinos Mitoglou scored 14 apiece.

Vince Hunter (12 points, five rebounds, four assists before having a scary injury in the last moments of the match)Xavier Rathan-Mayes (12 points), and Jonas Maciulis (11 points), were the AEK player in double figures.

Olympiacos needed to achieve a major comeback before eventually blowing away Peristeri at home behind some solid work by Axel Toupane.
