Kolossos Rhodes center Dimitris Mavroeidis had been with the Greek national team during the last World Cup Qualifiers Window and while he ended up being late, he also did not let his club down.
When he landed to Rhodes following the national team’s return to Greece from Bamberg, Germany, Kolossos was already playing a postponed Greek League vs. Panathinaikos.
Mavroeidis went to the game straight from the airport and made it just in time to enter the court in the second half. And Panathinaikos forward James Gist was curious as to his opponent’s delay.
“Gist asked me why I was late!,” Mavroeidis wrote as a joke on Facebook.
