Olympiacos captured its 21st win 24 games of the 2018-2019 Greek League by defeating AEK Athens 66 – 76 on the road.

This was the third straight loss for AEK that dropped to 17 – 8 but remains third in the table. Olympiacos is still second since the six-point penalty due to forfeiting the league game vs. Panathinaikos hasn’t been applied yet.

Nikola Milutinov had a double-double of 14 points and 18 rebounds for Olympiacos while Sasha Vezenkov and Zach LeDay scored 13 points apiece. Will Cherry finished with eight points, three rebounds and three steals in 21:53 minutes in his debut with the Reds. David Blatt’s team was quite shorthanded since apart from the injuries of Vassilis Spanoulis Spanoulis and Janis Strelnieks, Giorgos Printezis was ruled out of the game.

For AEK, that missed guard Jordan Theodore, Giannoulis Larentzakis dropped 16 points.

Standings leader Panathinaikos Athens won’t play this week’s planned game vs. Cholargos due to the team’s participation in the EuroLeague playoffs. The match will be postponed to take place later this season.
