The Greek League tipped off with a challenging contest between Panathinaikos and AEK.

Panathinaikos kick-started the new Greek Basket League season with an emphatic 89-68 victory against AEK Athens.

DeShawn Thomas shinned in this first official contest of the season for the Greens, with 26 points (9/11 FG), two rebounds, and two assists across 23 minutes on the court. Tyrese Rice also contributed 11 points and seven assists in this comfortable win.

On the other side of the court, Ray Kendrick added 18 points and three rebounds for AEK.

Panathinaikos showed off dedication on the defensive end right from the start, going to the lockers with a 48-34 advantage and the deficit even went up to 28 points with three minutes left in the game.
