Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Hall of Famer Dino Radja played for both Greek rivals, Panathinaikos (1997-1999) and Olympiacos (2000-2001). With the ‘Greens,’ he won back-to-back championships in the Greek League and was also named the 1998 Finals MVP.

As the Greek Clasico for Round 24 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague competition is approaching, Eurohoops had the chance to talk to the Croatian legend and get his opinion on the game and the two teams.

Which team will you support on Friday?

Dino Radja: It’s impossible to choose between two kids.

Do you have a prediction for which team will come out on top?

DR: Olympiacos is in a better situation, but in those games, without fans, you never know.

Which team has the best atmosphere/fans?

DR: Both fan bases are crazy. I loved playing these games both home and away.

What are your thoughts on both teams this year?

DR: Panathinaikos is struggling after a long time on top. They miss Olympiacos in the Greek League.

If you had to pick a EuroLeague player who is similar to you, who would that be?

DR: In today’s game, big guys are different than when I was playing. There are no more back to the basket experts.

In which current EuroLeague team would you have liked to play at?

DR: I love Greece, so anywhere.
