Sasa Obradovic says it’s time for Monaco to step up in Game 4 of the series against Olympiacos

MONACO — Achilleas Mavrodontis / info@eurohoops.net

AS Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic spoke to Eurohoops ahead of Game 4 in the playoffs series against Olympiacos Piraeus (April 29, 21:00 CET). Monaco is looking to live another day after losing Game 3 at home, while the Greek side has a chance to complete the series Friday (2-1 lead).

“You cannot change much in 48 hours”, Obradovic tells Eurohoops. “We have to restrict Sloukas and Dorsey to have a chance to win”.

Monaco put up a real challenge for the Greek team in Game 3, yet couldn’t finish their first-ever playoffs game at home in the desired way. “We behave like that all season long. We are a team that will never give up. Is this enough to win a game? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, but in the majority of cases, we did good. I’m sure that we are going to step up [and play] even harder”.

The 53-year-old Serbian playcaller also notes the influence of Mike James on the team. “He is a factor, you have to think about him. You cannot give a possession open [to him] because he will find the chance to score”.

No matter the outcome of the series, Obradovic states that he is pleased with his players. “The guys did an extremely good job. It’s a completely new team”, he says. “Building your team with players who actually didn’t have [prior] EuroLeague experience is an amazing job. So no matter what happens tomorrow we showed that we can play anybody”.
