The second representative of Russia in Euroleague, BC Khimki, demolished Astana from Kazakhstan 104-75. Lietuvos Rytas, playing without three key members, lost to Spartak St. Petersburg and has already two defeats in VTB league

Astana started the season in VTB league with a big win against Lietuvos Rytas, but in its second game the team from Kazakhstan lost to Khimki by 29 points (104-75). With K.C.Rivers scoring 17 points and four more players in double digits, the Russians didn’t encounter any problem in their last game before their Euroleague opener.

Lietuvos Rytas playing without three injured players, Janis Blums, Predrag Samardziski and Steponas Babrauskas, could not compete with Spartak St.Petersburg in Russia. Forwards Loukas Mavrokefalidis and Joshua Carter scored 19 points each and Spartak got a big 75-48 win.

At the other two games of the day for VTB, Kalev Talin from Estonia beat Turow from Poland 81-80 and VEF Riga from Latvia demolished Russian Triumph 101-78.
