In the first game of the Eurolegue qualifying round in Ostend, Strasbourg was dominant and destroyed VEF Riga 82-53. The difference in experience and quality proved to be huge as the players of Vincent Collet stayed focus from the start of the match till the end. They played solid defense and had great teamwork and cooperation on the offensive end with many players getting their moment to shine.

Riga tried to stay relatively close till the end of first half (42-32) but everything was decided during the third period. With a partial score 23-10, Strasbourg created a 23 points lead (65-42) and the Latvian team never found the way to react, having bad shooting percentages and many turnovers (22 in total). Ali Traore was impressive with 15 points and 6 rebounds without missing a shoot, also Antoine Diot made 15 points and 3 assists.
