Barcelona, as usual, started the season by winning the Catalan Cup by beating on Thursday nigh Andorra (104-93). It was a showcase for Justin Doellman who led Varcelona with 27 points and 5 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Also center Ante Tomic had a full stats line with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
In a game for the group phase of the Turkish Cup, Fenerbahce/ Ulker beat TED Ankara (83-58) with center Oguz Savas leading the way with 15 points and 10 rebounds. For the same competition Banvit prevailed over Trabzonspor (85-70), Karsiyaka did the same over Eskisehir (78-70) and Istanbul BSB beat Tofas (84-83).
