CSKA Moscow crashed Maccabi Tel Aviv in a game that turned out to be a very one sided affair, while Neptunas Klaipeda got its first ever win in Euroleague over Crvena Zvezda thanks to a great first half and a little luck in the end.

Maccabi Tel Aviv started the game with an 11-4 run, but quickly order was restored by CSKA Moscow. The hosts ended the first quarter having already the lead (21-19) and were up by 7 (48-41) in the half as Sonny Weems had already 14 points and Andrey Vorontsevich was on the verge of a double double (9 p., 9 r.). And then a nightmare started for Maccabi, as CSKA with a 20-4 run in five minutes, got a 68-45 lead and the game was over. The score of the third quarter was 80-56 and the final score was 99-80 for the hosts who got a stellar game by Vorontsevich (13 p., 11 r., 4 as., 3 bl.). Jeremy Pargo had 7 points on 2/13 shots for Maccabi, Milos Teodosic of CSKA dished 11 assists and became the 7th leading passer in the all time list of the league, while Sonny Weems had 18 points and reached the milestone of 1.000 points in Euroleague.

Neptunas by shooting 9/17 threes in the first half, surprised the Serbs and got a nice 10 points halftime lead (47-37) as Deividas Gailius (photo) scored 14 points on 4/4 threes. However the hosts couldn’t keep up shooting the same way and the guests, led by Marcus Williams came back in the game and the trailed by three (69-66) at the start of the final quarter. In the end the hero of Neptunas was Valdas Vasylius who made the winning basket with 9 seconds to go (83-81). Williams who finished the game with 23 points and 6 assists, attempted the last shot, a three pointer for the win, but couldn’t make it.
