The Spaniards started the game with a double digits lead after the first quarter (24-14), but the score was tied in the half (38-38). Zalgiris got the lead in the third quarter and kept it almost until the last minute. Ηowever Andres Nocioni gave a one point edge (66-65) to Real with 62 seconds to go. In the next possession Giannis Bourousis blocked Lukas Lekavicius, then Jonas Maciulis lost the three which could have sealed the game for Real and Paulius Jankunas was fouled with 9 seconds left. He had 1/2 free throws to tie the game (66-66) and Zalgiris decided to foul Sergio Rodriguez in order to have the last shot. “El Chacho” with two free throws gave a 68-66 lead to Real and Zalgiris had 4,9 seconds to win the game. James Anderson attempted the lost shot under pressure from six meters away from the basket, he missed it and Real prevailed. Anderson was the top scorer of the game with 21 points and Rodriguez had 12 for Madrid.
