Real Madrid finished on top of the standings in Group A by beating Anadolu Efes (90-70) and EA7 Milano in a game without any interest for the Top16 race got in the end the road win over Turow.
In Madrid, during the first half the two teams were close and the score was tied at 60 after 28 minutes on the game. However during the rest of it was a show by Real led by Rudy Fernandez who scored 17 points and also had 5 rebounds. Giannis Bourousis was also excellent against his former coach Dusan Ivkovic and finished the game with a double double (19 p., 10 r.). Dario Saric flirted with a triple double (11 p., 5 r., 8 as.) but couldn’t stop the momentum of the Spaniards. After this result in the Top16 Real Madrid will face its domestic arch-rival Barcelona.
EA7 Milano got the road win over already Eurocup-bound Turow (101-96). However the hosts fought until the end for the win, getting into striking distance (96-95) with 55 seconds to go. Still they couldn’t score but one more point until the end. The Italians got a record night by Linas Kleiza who registered a personal best in Euroleague with 29 points – 16 of them in third quarter – on 8/13 threes.
