The playoffs started in VTB United league with the hosts prevailing in the first three games. Zenit St.Petersburg, Lokomotiv Kuban and of course CSKA Moscow are already at 1-0.
Things were easy for CSKA in the 103-58 over Astana from Kazakhstan which already can be satisfied just by reaching the playoffs. Nando De Colo with 17 points was the top scorer of the winners. Lokomotiv also got a convincing 73-64 win over Unics Kazan behind 17 points by Anthony Randolph.
On the contrary Zenit just edged Nizhny Novgorod (73-72) thanks to a 1/2 free throws by Walter Hodge with 2 seconds remaining on the clock. Hodge was also the top scorer of the game with 19 points.
