The win of KK Split against Crvena Zvezda was the biggest surpsise in the first gameday of Adriatic league with Nicola Vujcic being a key figure on and off the court, while hosting New Orleans GM Dell Demps in Dalmatia

The season in Adriatic league opened with many unexpected results. Partizan did win Zadar 81-74 after coach Dule Vujosevic being ejected from the game at the third quarter, MZT Skopje beat Cibona in Zagreb 77-72, but the biggest surprise of the first gameday was the win of Split against Crvena Zvezda (87-81).

The Serbian team spend a lot of money this summer, signed Igor Rakocevic and has three American players (D.Nelson, M.Almond, E.Brown), something that is considered a luxury in ABA league. However, 30 years old guard Ivan Mimica with 32 points stole the show together with former Euroleague star Nikola Vujcic (photo) who is also the director of Split and can still do it on the court as he proved with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. It was a great way for Split to finish the week after hosting for three days New Orleans GM Dell Demps who is on a scouting trip in Europe.

Also, for the 1st game day of ABA league the following games were played: Siroki – Igokea 63-69, Radnicki – Olimpija 65-71, Buducnost – Cedevita 74-78, Krka – Szolnoki 71-56.
