The Italian League’s 2019-20 season has been officially canceled one month ago and now, the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) has decided that the champions won’t be proclaimed as well as that there won’t be any promotions nor relegations between divisions, per Gazzetta.
That said, the league allowed clubs to request repositioning to a different division, the right they can use by June 15. The clubs are expected to turn their focus toward the next season and set the calendars for the 2020-21 campaign which should start by October.
FIP has also put into plan the economic relief for the clubs in various ways with 6.7 million euros in total.
