Milano advances to Italian SuperCup Final Four, Fortitudo takes down Virtus

Olimpia Milano secured a Final Four ticket after beating Brescia while Fortitudo grabbed a narrow win against Virtus in the Bologna clash

Olimpia Milano stayed perfect in the Italian SuperCup Group A with a 91-79 win over Brescia, improving to 5-0 and securing the first spot which leads to the next stage – the Final Four.

Sergio Rodriguez scored 17 points for the victors followed by Kevin Punter with 14 and Vladimir Micov with 12 points.

On the other side, Kenny Cherry had 17 points of his own while Andrew Crawford helped with 15 and Christian Burns with 11 points. Burns also grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double.

It was a close game early on but Milano stepped up and went on a 12-0 run to close the first half which put them ahead 50-39 and swayed the game into their favor, with Brescia not being able to recover for the rest of the match.

Meanwhile, in the second Bologna clash in three days, Fortitudo was the team to come out on top this time around by downing Segafredo Virtus 86-84 thanks to a 10-2 run a the end, including scoring the last five points of the game.

Pietro Aradori led the way with 16 points while Adrian Banks and Nicolo Dellosto added 12 each. Dellosto was also the one to dish the pass to Ethan Happ for the game-winning layup with 13 seconds left.

For Virtus, Milos Teodosic stepped up with 22 points in addition to Ricci Giiampaolo’s 15 and Amar Alibegovic’s 14 points.
