Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna are the two teams that advanced to the 2021 Italian SuperCup final. Both squads also faced each other in last year’s final with Olimpia Milano winning the title.

Bologna was the second team to qualify by beating Reyer Venezia 72 – 71. Virtus was up by 12 points halfway through the third period until Venezia came back to even go up 56 – 57 with five minutes to play.

Milos Teodosic scored a key 3-pointer for Bologna for the 68 – 64 with less than a minute remaining and Kevin Hervey with Kyle Weems also added a pair of free throws apiece to retain Bologna’s lead.

Hervey finished with team-highs 17 points and nine rebounds while Teodosic scored 14 points and dished out eight assists. Stefano Tonut (16 points, six rebounds) and Victor Sanders (15 points) were Venezia’s top contributors.

Five players scored in double figures for Milano in a 72 – 67 win over Happy Casa Brindisi 72 – 67 to move to the final. Dinos Mitoglou (13 points, seven rebounds), Kyle Hines (11 points, nine rebounds), Nicolo Melli (11 points, seven rebounds), Shavon Shields (11 points) and Malcolm Delaney (10 points) led the charge for Ettore Messina’s team.

Josh Perkins and Nick Perkins had 17 points plus seven rebounds apiece for Brindisi. Their team was up 56 – 51 at the end of the third period following a stunning 29 – 10 quarter. Milano turned the table around completely on the defensive end to outplay its opponents 21 – 11 and get the victory.
