Bertram Tortona has been improving and rising for the past decade as they’ve finally achieved the promotion to the Italian League’s top division this season but that hasn’t been all.

Tortona has managed to fight for the playoffs this year on par with other teams and is currently sitting in the sixth spot with a 10-9 record. To further make their case, the squad has managed to make a sensation with a 94-82 win over Virtus Bologna and reach the Italian Cup Final.

Ariel Filloy and JP Macura led the scorers of the winning team with 18 points each while Jamarr Sanders scored 16 and Bruno Mascolo 15 points.

For Virtus, Marco Belinelli scored 18 and Kyle Weems 17 points with Jaiteh Mouhammadou adding 15. The latter also grabbed nine rebounds.

Tortona will face the biggest challenge yet in the Final where Olimpia Milano awaits after beating Brescia earlier in the day with 69-63 on the scoreboard.

Sergio Rodriguez was the main force behind their victorious push with 22 points while Devon Hall and Luigi Datome scored 12 each. For Brescia, Amedeo Della Valle had 19 and John Petrucelli 11 points.
