Milano overpowered Virtus in the final period, courtesy mainly of Shavon Shields.

Shavon Shields scored 21 points and made five steals Olimpia Milano defeated Virtus Bologna 77 – 62 at home in Game 4 of the Italian League Finals. The best-of-seven series now moves to Bologna.

Milano trailed 55 – 57 at the beginning of the final period after a Virtus comeback from down 11 (45-34) early in the second half. Shields then dropped 10 points and his team made an 18 – 0 run to not only take the lead but establish a safe advantage entering the final stretch.

Sergio Rodriguez contributed 14 points, Jerian Grant scored 11 and Kyle Hines had 10 points plus two blocks for Milano.

Tornike Shengelia led Virtus with 21 points while Mam Jaiteh had 14 points and eight rebounds. The visiting side had a powerful start to take a 16 – 24 lead but Milano caught up and went ahead 40 – 34 at halftime.

After falling behind with double figures, Virtus made the turnaround to go up at the beginning of the fourth period but then went scoreless for seven minutes while Milano build a strong margin in their favor.
