Olimpia Milano moved within one win of the LegaBasket semifinals after taking a commanding 2-0 lead in their quarterfinal series against Reggio Emilia with a 77-65 victory in Game 2.
Playing once again in front of their home crowd, Armani Milan delivered another composed and convincing performance, controlling the game for long stretches despite an early push from the visitors. Reggio Emilia briefly held the advantage during the opening quarter, but that would prove to be their only moment in front as Milano quickly took control and never looked back.
Shavon Shields once again led the way for the hosts, finishing with 19 points and setting the tone offensively throughout the night. His scoring and leadership helped Milano maintain a comfortable margin as the game progressed, with the Italian powerhouse showing both defensive solidity and patience on offense.
For Reggio Emilia, Riccardo Rossato was the standout performer with 14 points, leading the visitors in scoring in an effort that ultimately was not enough to challenge a dominant Milano side.
With the series now at 2-0, Olimpia Milano head to the next game full of confidence after back-to-back home victories, while Reggio Emilia face a difficult task if they hope to keep their playoff campaign alive.
In the other game of the day, Brescia tied the series against trieste 1-1 after winning the second game 90-82.
