Virtus Bologna has reached the semifinals of the Italian league playoffs. The Bologna side defeated Trentino at home to take a 3-2 lead in the quarterfinal tie (106-95).
Carsen Edwards exploded with 22 points. Saliou Niang accompanied him with 17 in the important victory to advance to the next phase.
In a crucial game tied 2-2 in the series, Virtus completed its comeback and advanced to the Legabasket semifinals. With the score at 58-55 before halftime, the Bologna team had work to do in the second half.
Carsen Edwards stepped up at the crucial moment to lead the way in the final quarter and secure a vital home victory (106-95), advancing to the semifinals. There, they will face Reyer Venezia, who won Game 5 against Derthona Basket (89-83).
