Virtus survived Markoishvili’s fire

Despite Manuchar Markoishvili’s superb shooting night, Virtus took down Reggio Emilia at home.

Virtus Bologna moved up to an 8-7 record as they beat Reggio Emilia at home 85-75.

Manuchar Markoishvili spat fire in the first half of time match scoring 18 points and all of them were from the three-point territory. His hand was hot, shooting 6/8 from behind the arc in the first half while Alessandro Gentile was struggling. Gentile had only 4 points in the first 20 minutes as he was shooting 1/7 from the field and Virtus Bologna was trailing 45-44 before the break.

The second half started with Gentile finding his rhythm. He scored 6 quick points while his team made a 13-5 run. The third quarter was the key for the hosts as they won that period 25-14 and finished the game in style.

Gentile finished the game with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Marcus Slaughter was one board shy from the double-double game as he had 15 points and 9 rebounds.

The hottest guy in the first half Markoishvili finished the game with game-high 25 points, but he didn’t score another triple in the second part of the game.
