Scott Bamforth helped Sassari stop Bologna’s comeback and record a road win on Day 9 of Italian League.

Sassari turned the tables and then stopped Bologna’s comeback on their way to an 86-74 road win on Day 9 of Italian League.

Scott Bamforth nailed game-high 27 points for the victors while Jack Cooley scored 16 in addition to Jaime Smith’s 14 points. For Bologna, Kevin Punter banked 25 and Pietro Aradori 16 points.

Bologna had an early 23-12 lead but was just slightly ahead at halftime (43-42). Sassari took over after the break and went ahead in double-digits themselves (69-58) in front of the final period. Although Bologna approached (71-69), Sassari quickly answered getting back the double-digit lead with a 9-0 run and securing the game.

Earlier the same day, two Lithuanians partnered up and led Olimpia Milano to a win against Cantu.

After this match, both Sassari and Bologna hold a 4-5 record while the top belongs to the undefeated Milano (9-0). Trentino is at the bottom with a 2-7 record.
